Mandatory Equality Plan: Which Companies Need One and What It Includes
If your company has more than 50 workers, you are required to have a registered equality plan. Ignoring this prevents access to public tenders and hiring bonuses.
Who is required?
All companies with 50 or more workers (Royal Decree 901/2020). Part-time employees count fully.
What must it include?
Starting from a diagnostic: selection process, professional classification, training, promotion, working conditions (including working hours), work-life balance, gender underrepresentation, pay and harassment prevention.
Connection with time tracking
A time tracking system that can segment data by gender helps detect differences in hours worked, overtime or shift distribution between men and women.
Penalties
Not having a plan when required is a serious infraction (€626-€6,250) and excludes you from public tenders.
